First Savings Credit Card Review: Looking to Rebuild Your Credit Score?

first national credit card review

There are several credit card options for consumers with a subprime credit score. Many banks now offer credit cards that you can qualify for despite having a poor credit history. One such offering is the First Savings Credit Card.

If you have had a bad credit history, you may get an offer via mail or email for a First Savings Credit Card. Can a First Savings Credit Card help you rebuild your credit? Does it deserve a place in your Wallet? In this review, we’ll try to answer these questions to help you decide whether you should get a First Savings Credit Card.

First Savings Credit Card

The annual fees on the First Savings Credit Card vary from $0 to $75 depending on the applicant’s qualifications. Internet rates on the card vary from 17.15% to 29.9%. The credit limit on the First Savings Credit Card is $300. The complete list of First Savings Credit Card agreements can be found on this website.

If you receive an offer on the First Savings card with an annual fee of $75 and an APR of 29.9%, then it wouldn’t make sense to accept this offer. There are plenty of other credit cards with better rates and no annual fee. However, if you’re offered a $0 annual fee and the lowest possible APR i.e. 17.15%, then you may consider accepting the First Savings Credit Card. The benefits of the First Savings Credit Card include:

  • You are in complete control of purchases
  • There are no penalty APRs or hidden fees associated with the credit card
  • There is a fraud coverage for a stolen or lost credit card
  • Secured online access to the credit card account

Accepting an Offer on Mail

The First Savings markets the First Savings Credit Card through pre-screened credit card offers via an email or mail. You can apply for this credit card only if you receive a special invitation from First Savings Bank. The invitation is mostly sent to people with subprime credit, so you may receive it if your credit is low. If you receive an invitation via an email or mail and you accept it, you’ll get the access code and reservation number. Enter the access code and reservation number here. Then, you’ll be required to verify your mailing address and complete a few more steps. An offer will be made to you depending on your qualifications. If you find the terms reasonable, you may accept the offer to get the First Savings Credit Card.

First Savings Credit Card Login Information

As a First Savings Credit Card cardholder, you can access your account online and manage it. You must register your account before you can access it online. Initial registration requires you to provide your credit card information for verification. You’ll need to provide your full card number, the security code, the last four digits of the SSN and the expiration date. Once you have registered your account, you can log into it by entering the user name and password. You can make online purchases, schedule automatic payments and view your account information from the online portal.

Should You Get a First Savings Credit Card?

People who have a poor credit history are usually the ones who receive the First Savings Credit Card offer. If you have a bad credit history, you may receive an invitation for this credit card. Once you enter the reservation number and access code, you’ll be made an offer. If the terms and conditions are favorable, you may consider getting this credit card. It may help you re-establish your credit rating. For instance, if you get a 17.15% APR with a $0 annual fee, then the First Savings Credit Card could be a good option for you. Since there is no annual fee, it may be a good option for rebuilding the credit.

However, at the other end of the spectrum, we have a $75 annual fee and a 29.9% APR. These rates are very high and make the First Savings Credit Card a poor option for rebuilding credit. Moreover, you’ll get a credit limit of $300 which may not be enough for you.

Sensibly speaking, the First Savings Credit Card isn’t right for you if you don’t get a good offer. There are much better deals for people with a bad credit history. So, if you get an offer with a high APR and annual fee, you shouldn’t get a First Savings Credit Card.

You should shop around for better deals. There are credit cards for poor credit consumers that come with a reasonable APR and no annual fees. They may be a better option for you if you want to rebuild your credit.

Alternatives to Consider

High APRs and annual fee on the First Savings Credit Card aren’t favorable. They won’t ease your credit rebuilding tasks in any way. So, if you get an offer with a high APR and an annual fee, it would be better to look for a better alternative than the First Savings Credit Card. Secured credit cards could be a good option for you if you can afford to make a deposit on the card. These secured credit cards may be right for you if you have subprime credit.

Capital One Secured Mastercard

The Capital One Secured Mastercard comes with a $0 annual fee and you’ll receive a credit line of $200 after you have made a security deposit of $200, $99 or $49, depending on your creditworthiness. If you make your first five monthly payments on time, you’ll get access to a higher credit limit. The APR on the Capital One Secured Mastercard is 26.99% (variable).

Citi Secured Mastercard

The Citi Secured Mastercard comes without an annual fee. You will be required to provide a security deposit equal to your credit limit. This could be anywhere from $200 to $2,500. APR on the Citi Secured Mastercard is currently 24.74 (variable). The minimum security deposit required for this credit card is $200.

Our Last Thoughts on the First Savings Credit Card

The First Savings Credit Card could be a fine option for you if you want to rebuild your credit. That’s true only if you receive a good offer on the card. If you receive an offer of $0 annual fee and a 17.15% APR with a $300 credit line, then it’s a great option. You should go ahead and get a First Savings Credit Card with this offer. It will assist you in rebuilding credit. However, if you get an offer with a high APR like more than 25% an annual fee of over $50, then you shouldn’t get First Savings Credit Card. You can get better offers than this on other credit cards.

First National Credit Card Review: Four Bank Cards to Consider

first national credit card

The First National Bank of Omaha is located throughout Texas, South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Colorado, Illinois, and Nebraska. This bank prides itself on being loyal to customers and offers four different credit cards. Each of the First National Bank Credit Cards offers different advantages to consumers. In this review, we will take a look at each First National credit card to help you decide which of the four could be right for you.

Platinum Edition Visa Card

The Platinum Edition Visa Card from the First National Bank may be right for you if you want to carry a balance on your card. For the initial 15 billing cycle, you will get an introductory 0% APR on balance transfers. After the introductory period is over, there will be an APR between 11.74% and 19.74% (variable). The APR on the card depends on your creditworthiness. If you have great credit, you will be able to get low APR on the Platinum Edition Visa Card.

The low APR will help you when you carry a balance on your credit card as you will be charged less in interest. However, it is important to note that you can only qualify for this First National credit card if your credit score is good or excellent. You should pay attention to the card’s balance transfer fee. The introductory fee for transferring the balance during the initial 15 billing cycles is 3% per transfer. However, after the introductory period is over, you’ll be charged a 5% fee on balance transfer.

Secured Visa Card

If you are trying to rebuild your credit score, the First National Bank Secured Visa Card could be the right option for you. If you get approved for this secured credit card, you can set a credit limit of your own. This limit can depend on the amount you deposit on the card as collateral. Limits on the Secured Visa Card range between $300 and $5,000.

You may be able to increase your limit on the card in a period of seven months without even making another deposit if you use your credit card and make timely, regular payments. Since the First National Bank reports card activity to the three major bureaus, the Secured Visa Card can help you rebuild your credit.

It is important for you to note that the money deposited for this First National credit card does not earn interest. Moreover, you cannot draw the cash you have deposited to open your account. If you want to withdraw the money, you would have to close your credit card account. The good thing about the Secured Visa Card is that there is no annual fee on it.

Since your activity with this First National credit card is reported to the three main credit bureaus, it is critical that you always make payments on time. Doing this will help you improve your credit. However, if you are late in making payments, it would reflect negatively on your credit report and your credit situation will worsen. If you maintain a good payment history on your Secured Visa Card, you may get your deposit back in a period of 11 months.

Complete Rewards Visa Card

If you have an account with the First National Bank, then this First National credit card could be a good option for you as it may help you earn good rewards. With the Complete Rewards Visa Card, you get cash back of 1% on all purchases. If you redeem your rewards into your bank’s checking, mortgage or savings account, you will earn an additional 1%. What this means is that it is possible for you to earn 2% cash back on your purchases with the Complete Rewards Visa Card. If these rewards are put towards the mortgage, cash back on the card goes towards paying down the principal amount. For other options, the cash back is directly deposited into your designated account. One of the good things about this First National credit card is that it comes without an annual fee.

If you’re after a great sign-up bonus, then you should know that the Complete Rewards Visa Card doesn’t offer an impressive sign-up bonus. On your first purchases during the initial three billing cycles, you will earn rewards that can be redeemed for $25 in gift cards, travel, merchandise or cash back. If you redeem the bonus into your mortgage, checking or savings account, that bonus increases to $50.

If you want to maximize your rewards on the Complete Rewards Visa Card, you should have a savings, a college savings, a mortgage or a checking account with the First National Bank. Otherwise, you won’t get a major reward. There is a zero-percent introductory APR offer on purchases for initial 12 billing cycle on this First National credit card. Make sure to capitalize on this offer by making a big-ticket purchase like a laptop or TV. During the introductory period, there is a variable APR between 17.74% and 24.74%.

First National Bank American Express Card

The First National Bank American Express Card could be a good option for you if you’re looking for great statement credits.  It offers 1.5 percent cash back on all purchases. Moreover, the rewards you earn on the card do not expire. If you spend a total of at least $500 in the initial 3 billing cycle, you get a $100 sign-up bonus. There is no annual fee on the First National Bank American Express Card while the APR is 20.74% (variable). Your cash back is credited to your statement whenever you earn a total of $25, so you have to wait to get the statement credit until you have earned $25. The balance transfer fee on this First National credit card is 5% (minimum $10) while the maximum late fee is $37.

One thing we don’t like about the First National Bank American Express Card is that there is no introductory APR. Other than that, it is a great credit card that can help you save a few bucks on your purchases.

Apply for a First National Credit Card

You can apply for any of the First National credit cards from their credit card page. Carefully read the summary of credit terms before applying for any of the credit cards.

Our Last Thoughts on First National Credit Cards

Each of the First National Bank credit cards is designed for different types of consumers. The one that may be right for you depends on what you’re looking for. If you want rewards and have an account with the First National bank, consider getting the Complete Rewards Visa Card. For carrying some balance on your credit card, the Platinum Visa Card would be best. If you want great statement credits, then the First National Bank American Express Card would be right for you. Last but not least, if you want to rebuild your credit, then consider getting the Secured Visa Card.

Keep in mind that there may be better credit card options for you, than those that are offered by First National Bank. Below we’ll show you our favorite alternatives.

Decision Time: Which Credit Card is Really the Best for You?

Here at Travel Freedom, we like to travel, which is why we always prefer travel credit cards for ourselves. You might be the same as us or maybe you’d rather use your points as cashback. Either way, all of these cards earn Ultimate Rewards that can be used for either travel or as cash back.

We think that any four of these cards are a better option than the above-reviewed credit card. They earn points that are both valuable and very versatile. You can redeem them for an assortment of things including our favorite, TRAVEL!

Apple Credit Card Review: Made for Apple Enthusiasts

apple credit card review

The Apple credit card is great for paying at Apple Stores. However, as far as other transactions are concerned, you must keep other credit cards as well. Keeping this card is worthwhile since it has no annual fees. If you are a huge Apple fan and buy a lot of their products, this may be a good card for you.

Zero Interest Finance Option

The Apple card has zero interest finance options for eligible Apple product purchases made inside 30 days of getting your account opened. If you choose to use this option, you will have to make sure that you pay the full bill by the end of the promo period or else you may end up being charged with interest. Since this offer is valid for up to 30 days (after opening your account), you should look towards other zero interest credit cards after the expiration of 30 days if you want to enjoy zero interest finance options.

Minimum Point Level

One limitation is the reward threshold. You will get points for every purchase that you make with this card at the Apple store. Your points are automatically redeemed each time they cross 2,500. You will then receive an iTunes or Apple gift card which has a value of $25. Therefore, you will have to wait for your points to cross the 2,500 level before they can be redeemed.

The card has a good reward rate for making purchases at the Apple store and also for dinging out. But if you use it to buy groceries or to spend at a gas station, you will get a very modest 1 percent cash back reward. For such purchases, it will be wise to keep some other card that offers better rewards.

Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards Features and Benefits

The basic reward structure is this: you will get points for every purchase made with this card at the Apple store which can then be redeemed to obtain Apple gift cards. You will earn 3 points for each dollar that you spend at the Apple retail store, at Apple.com, the iTunes store or 1-800-MY-APPLE. You can also earn 2 points on each dollar that you spend at restaurants and just one point for each dollar that you spend anywhere else. From the reward structure, it is clear that the Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards credit card is best for Apple purchases and good enough for dining out. It is not terribly attractive for other purchases but then you have several options for cash back rewards credit cards that will give you good returns for these types of purchases.

apple credit card

No Annual Fees

With the Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards credit card, you will earn attractive rewards for making purchases at the Apple store. Since it does not have an annual fee, you don’t need to use this card too frequently. With annual fees, you have to earn enough rewards so that they breakeven with the annual fee. Even if your hard earned rewards are in excess of the annual fee, they are greatly diminished by the annual fee and this makes the card unattractive. You can use this credit card at your own discretion and enjoy peace of mind.

Gift Cards

Whenever you earn 2,500 points, an iTunes or Apple gift card worth $25 is automatically sent towards you. During your application, you may specify whether you would like to receive an Apple gift card or an iTunes gift card. You cannot use your accumulated points in any other way.

Interest-free Purchase Financing

Besides earning rewards, you can use the Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards credit card to obtain interest-free financing. This card may be used to finance Apple store purchases interest-free. Keep in mind though that this offer is open only for purchases made within 30 days of opening your account.

You cannot decide the time duration of the payment period. The financing period is determined by the price of the credit purchase that you made. Here is the list of finance period durations based on purchase price:

  • For purchases under $499, finance period is 6 months.
  • On purchases that range from $499 to under $999, the finance period is 12 months.
  • For purchases that go from $999 to $1.499, the finance period is 18 months.
  • On purchases that amount to $1,499 and above, you will enjoy a finance period of 24 months.

As long as you pay the full amount of your purchase by the end of the finance period, you will not have any interest on this type of financing.

However, if you make a late payment or fail to pay the full amount of the purchase, then you will have to pay interest that begins from the date of purchase. In such a case, the interest rate that will be charged to your account will be equal to the credit card’s standard APR.

Comparing the Apple Credit Card to other Cards

While the Apple credit card is great for Apple purchases and for dining out to some extent, it is lacking in other areas. Here is how you can solve this problem:

Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards will offer zero-interest finance only for those Apple purchases that are made within just 30 days after your account has been opened. It is quite possible that you are looking for zero-finance option after the expiry of the 30 day promotion period. The Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card has an introductory APR offer option that can help you in your purchases for a longer period of time. It will serve you well for a longer period of time than what is offered by the Apple credit card.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card provides a long introductory APR period. On top of that, you’ll start earning rewards immediately. The card offers a signup bonus and also earns 1.5% cash back (in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards) on every purchase.

A card that earns rewards on more than just Apple products might make more sense for you. It really depends on how much you really shop directly with Apple.

How to Apply for the Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards Credit Card

  • Go to the Apple credit card page.
  • Click ‘continue’. You will then go to the Barclaycard web application page.
  • Fill in the application form. Barclays can send you a reply within 30 seconds, although certain applications may require more time.
  • You can now shop immediately at the Apple Store once this card has been approved. You must have an Apple ID to use this card.

Our Last Thoughts on the Apple Credit Card

The Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards credit is a must have for die-hard Apple fans. But you will also want to keep other credit cards (mentioned above) to cover you where this card is lacking.

Merrick Bank Credit Card Review: A Secured Card to Build Your Credit

Merrick Bank Credit Card Review

Using a credit card is a good way to build your credit history. The more transactions you make and balance you clear on a credit card, the higher the credit card score you can get. Besides getting you a higher credit limit, a high credit score helps you in lowering your fee and getting better customer service. It even allows you to buy products that you would be denied to purchase with a low credit score. The Merrick Bank credit card can help you acheive this.

One of the issues many people face with frequent credit card usage is a concern for security. With a rising number of online credit card hacks and identity theft issues, consumers are starting to look for credit cards that are secure and covered from fraud.

Merrick Bank Credit Cards

Merrick bank is one of the top 20 issuers of Visa credit cards in the U.S. They have more than 2 million customers around the world. Their specialty is in helping customers build, strengthen and repair a bad credit score. With more transactions on the Merrick Bank credit card, you can build a better credit score over a period of time.

The bank offers different credit cards for this purpose that can be divided into two categories. The unsecured credit cards do not require any collateral and secured credit cards that can be backed by an asset.

The Merrick Bank Double Your Line Credit Card – Unsecured

This unsecured card from Merrick offers all the features that you would expect from other Visa cards. It also includes a unique feature that you won’t get with most other cards.

If you clear your minimum payment on time each month for the first seven months that you use the card, your credit line will be doubled automatically. Timely payments can have a big, positive effect on your credit score and the Merrick card rewards you on keeping your balances in the green.

Another factor that can improve your credit score is the percentage of your credit limit that you actually avail. Suppose you have a credit card limit of $5,000. You use $3,000 every month, but clear the balance on time. Since you are using about 60% of your card limit each month, your credit rating agency will consider you a moderate-to-high level credit risk and this will be reflected in your credit report.

Now suppose that your card limit doubles after 7 months. You will now have a credit limit of $10,000. If you continue to use the same amount each month that you used previously, i.e. $3,000, you will only be using 30% of your card limit. This will reduce the risk of your default and automatically improve your credit rating.

Another feature of the Merrick Bank credit card is that you will receive your FICO score for each month free of charge.

One of the downsides of the Merrick Bank credit card is that it only becomes available through invitation. You receive a certificate number in your email that is required for completing the application for the unsecured card.

Merrick Bank Secured Visa

Merrick Bank also offers a secured Visa card that you can apply for online without the need for any codes. The terms and conditions for this card are available for review online. The card comes with a secured credit line between $200 and $3,000.

The card has a regular APR at 18.7%. There is no penalty APR but it does charge you a late fee of $38. It has an annual fee of $36 per annum for the first year. After one year, a monthly fee is charged at $3 per month.

You can get cash with the card at an advance fee of $4 or 10% of the withdrawn amount, whichever is higher. The APR for cash advances is 23.7%.

The Merrick Bank credit card is accepted around the world. You can use it abroad at an additional foreign transaction fee of 2%.

After one year of use, the account linked with the secured credit card is periodically reviewed for credit limit increases. No additional security deposit is required.

The cardholder can get monthly FICO scores from the three credit rating agencies for free. The cardholder’s payment performance is reported to the three credit bureaus giving the user a chance to improve their credit score.

Card Pros and Cons

The Merrick Bank credit card is good for people with no credit or a poor credit score. You can receive the card with an initial security deposit of $200. If you consistently make transactions on the card and repay the amount on time, you can build up a good credit score within one year and have your credit limit raised.

The downside to the card is that there is no reward system, such as cash back or points. There is also no guarantee that your secured card will be upgraded to the unsecured – Double Your Line – credit card.

Applying for the Merrick Bank Credit Card

You can only apply for the secured credit card online. Since you will be putting down a security deposit on the card, you don’t need a great credit score for approval.

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of submitting the application for the Merrick Bank credit card. You will be required to submit personal information including your full name, SSN, date of birth, annual income and any obligatory monthly payments.

To apply for the card, simply go to Merrick Bank’s website and click the credit card application link. When you click on ‘Apply Now’, you will be taken to the form submission page. You will need to browse through several pages, fill in the information and submit the form for approval.

You will also need to submit a security deposit at the time of form submission or within six weeks from the date of making the application. The Merrick card can take up to six weeks to arrive but it shouldn’t take long if you submit the security deposit with the initial application.

Using the Merrick Bank Credit Card

The Merrick Credit Card is not a rewards or cash back card. It is specifically designed to be used for improving your credit score. While the APR is reasonable compared to other credit cards, you should only use it to make transactions that you can clear before the due date.

One way to do that is to set up an online account that can be accessed via your mobile device and monitored easily. You may also want to set up an auto-pay from your regular bank account to guarantee that your balance is cleared on time.

Late fee on the Merrick Bank credit card is charged a fee of $38. You really don’t want to incur this cost as it can mess up your monthly budget so make sure you clear the balance on time.

The bank allows a grace period of 25 days after the close of the billing cycle. If you pay your balance during this time, you won’t have to pay interest on the outstanding amount. If you miss payments before the due date, try to clear the balances during the grace period.

Customers who have been using the Merrick Bank Credit Card generally have fair to excellent reviews for the card. It usually gets an A- rating from corporations and an average score of 3.5 out of 5 as reported by Consumer Affairs.

If you already have a good credit score, there may be better options out there. Specifically, cards that earn rewards in the form of cash back or points.

Good luck on your road back to good credit. It’s great that you’re looking to improve your credit score and the way you live.

Wawa Credit Card Review: Do the Wawa Benefits Compare?

Gas station and convenience store chain Wawa offers a store credit card to its consumers. The card gives a decent discount on fuel purchases at Wawa. If you frequently purchase gas at Wawa, you may consider getting the Wawa Credit Card. This card comes with a $0 annual fee, which means that it could also be a good option for credit-rebuilding. Are the discounts and rewards on the Wawa Credit Card good enough?

If you want to decide whether the Wawa Credit Card deserves a place in your wallet, read this comprehensive review.

Wawa Credit Card

Wawa Credit Card does come without an annual fee, but the card features a very high-interest rate – the APR on the card is 28.74% (variable). High APR is normal among store credit cards, but most of the other store cards offer great rewards. If you are charged interest on the card, it won’t be less than $2. The late payment fee on the card can be as high as $39.

At first sight, the bonuses and features on the Wawa Credit Card may seem generous. For the first 2 months, you’ll receive a 25¢ rebate per gallon on gas purchased at Wawa. This roughly equals cash back of 10 percent during that initial period. Once the first two months are over, you will save 5¢ on every gallon of fuel purchased at Wawa. This equals cash back of about 2 percent.

While these rewards may seem lucrative, there are a few limitations that reduce their value. The rewards a cardholder can get with the Wawa Credit Card are limited to a mere $60 per year. Furthermore, you are not allowed to exceed 100 rebates at Wawa in a single billing period i.e. a month. Even if you get the maximum rewards during the first 60 days, you will eventually reach the $60 rewards limit and won’t be able to benefit from the cash back.

It’s also important to mention that the Wawa Credit Card won’t offer you much after the introductory two-month period. Once the introductory period is over you’ll only receive cash back of 2 percent on fuel purchases only – that is the same as what is offered by the Citi Double Cash Credit Card. However, the Citi Double Cash card offers 2 percent cash back on not just gas, but on all purchases. Considering that the Wawa Credit Card is a store card, you can’t use it anywhere else but Wawa stores and Wawa gas stations.

Wawa allows you to manage your credit card online or keep track of your rewards and gas purchases. However, these features are available on almost all store credit cards. So, although the rewards on the Wawa Credit Card look good at a first glance, they aren’t really too great and won’t provide you much benefit.

Pros of the Wawa Credit Card

  • $0 annual fee
  • Decent rewards on fuel purchases at Wawa

Cons of the Wawa Credit Card

  • Limited rewards
  • Hefty late fees and high interest rates
  • There aren’t any great features except for the reward on gas.

Applying for a Wawa Credit Card

You can apply for a Wawa Credit Card online. The application is simple and can be completed within an hour. If you wish to apply for a Wawa Credit Card, visit this page. You can access the credit card application by clicking the “Apply Now” button. Before you apply, make sure to read the terms and conditions document. Read each and every word of the document before applying for a Wawa Credit Card to ensure that you know exactly what you are signing up for.

Wawa Credit Card Login Information

Once you receive your Wawa Credit Card, you’ll need to register it before you can start managing your account online. You can visit this website and then click on ‘Register Your Card’ to complete the registration process. You will have to provide your card number, name as it appears on the card, security code and last 4 digits of primary cardholder’s SSN for registration. Once you have registered your credit card, you can sign into your account. Simply visit this page and enter your User ID and password to log in.

Payments

There are two ways to make payments on your Wawa Credit Card: By phone and via online banking. If you want to complete your payment over the phone, call at 1-855-207-9816. If you want to pay your Wawa Credit Card online, log into your online account and make the payment from there.

Should You Get a Wawa Credit Card?

Is a Wawa Credit Card right for you? Well, if you frequently purchase gas at Wawa, you could save a few bucks from the 25¢ rebate on gas in the first two months and from the 5¢ after the introductory period is over. These rewards look good. But, the $60 limit on rebates diminishes their value. No matter how much gas you purchase, the maximum you will be able to save in a year is $60. This isn’t much. Moreover, even if there wasn’t a limit, the 2 percent cash back after the introductory period won’t save you a lot of money since it is only for gas purchases. There are other credit cards that offer 2 percent cash back on not just gas purchase but on all purchases, which means that the Wawa Credit Card may not be an ideal option.

An Alternative to the Wawa Credit Card

The Chase Freedom Credit Card is a good alternative to Wawa card. It is one of the best cash back cards. If your credit score is good, you should consider getting the Chase Freedom card. The Wawa card only offers cash back of 2 percent, that too on gas purchases only. Chase Freedom offers 5 percent cash back on certain select categories for the initial $1,500 you spent every quarter. You’re allowed to select new categories at the start of every new quarter. Grocery and gas categories are featured frequently so you can get good cash back for your first $1,500 spending on groceries and gas.

Chase Freedom Credit Card Review

See our full review of the Chase Freedom.

There are certain advantages of having the Chase Freedom Credit Card. For instance, you will earn cash back of 1 percent on all the other purchases. When compared to Wawa card, you get nothing on other kinds of purchases. So, Chase Freedom credit card can prove to be a better alternative for you.

Our Last Thoughts on the Wawa Credit Card

Although the Wawa Credit Card offers good cash back and you can save a few bucks if you frequently purchase fuel at Wawa, the $60 limit puts a cap on your benefits. If the $60 limit wasn’t there, the Wawa card would be worthwhile. If you don’t frequently purchase gas at Wawa, then the Wawa Credit Card won’t provide you any benefit. So, if you have a good credit score, then consider getting a better credit card like the Citi Double Cash or the Chase Freedom Credit Card.

Credit One Credit Card Review: Start Building Your Credit Score Now

credit one credit card review

How to Improve Credit Score

People with bad credit scores run into problems when they require financial services. When a person has a bad credit score, getting finance becomes nearly impossible for them. If this is true for you, there is no need to lose hope. You can turn this unfortunate situation around by taking steps to build your credit score. One of these steps is applying for a credit card with relaxed terms. These cards may help you in your quest to improve your credit score. One such card that you should look into is the Credit One Credit Card.

Credit Building Cards

You should realize that such credit cards primarily build your damaged credit score. They will also offer modest rewards like cash back or other benefits but these should be treated as fringe benefits. They are not your primary aim so don’t be put off if the rewards seem modest compared to other leading credit cards – cards which you won’t get anyway because of your low score.

So there is no point bemoaning the fact that you can’t qualify for leading credit cards. However, credit score building cards like the Credit One Credit Card can provide you the opportunity that you have been looking for. Once you restore your credit score via the Credit One Credit Card, you can then apply for better credit cards.

You have to start small and then grow big. This is precisely what you are going to do with the help of the Credit One Credit Card. It may take a little time to get there but your patience and effort won’t go unrewarded.

No Security Deposit

One of the great advantages of the Credit One Credit Card is the fact that you don’t have to make a security deposit. Credit One Credit Card does not demand a security deposit like other cards that can be used for credit building. So this is one major plus point.

Other credit score building credit cards demand a security deposit that amounts to at least $300. Not only that but they also put an initial credit limit that matches with what you can contribute.

With the Credit One Credit Card, the amount of credit that is extended towards you depends on your annual fee. Your credit limit will, therefore, range from $225 to $300 depending upon how much annual fee you are being charged.

This is not really an enormous credit limit when compared with other cards. But you can at least save precious cash from being tied up as a security deposit. Moreover, you can increase your credit limit by being a responsible cardholder. Your account will be reviewed automatically. If you pay your dues on time and refrain from carrying balances, then your credit line will also increase.

So, you should start small but think big and make the right moves.

Annual Fee

Although the Credit One Credit Card does not ask for a security deposit, it still requires annual fees – as most other cards do. Depending on your credit rating, you will be charged anywhere from zero to $75 annual fee during your first year. In the subsequent years, you will then be charged anywhere from zero to $99. An annual fee like this will likely cancel out any of the rewards that you will gain unless you are spending a hefty amount via the Credit One Credit Card.

This should not bother you because rewards are not your primary concern. You should prioritize building up your credit score.

Even if you are charged the maximum fee of $75 in the first year, it is a small price to pay for building up your wrecked credit score. You will also be able to somewhat lower this cost through the cash back rewards that you will earn. The annual cost of building your credit score will further go down to an even lower amount.

Note that the annual fee will be charged on a monthly basis and divided accordingly.

APR

APR can range from 20 percent to 26 percent which is what many store credit cards charge. So it should not really be a reason for concern. What you should be more concerned about is making timely payments not just to avoid high-interest charges but also more importantly to bolster your low credit score.

Delaying payments will not only incur interest but will also defeat the very purpose for which you are using this card.

Flexible Cash Back Rewards Program

Another major benefit of using the Credit One Credit Card is that, in spite of a low credit score, you will still have a chance to gain 1% cash back on eligible expenditure. After getting approved for this card, you will have the option of choosing from six different types of rewards programs to gain cash back rewards on groceries, gas, dining and phone services. Depending on your spending habits, you should choose the option that maximizes your cash back rewards.

Other Benefits to Build up Your Credit Score

This credit card also offers other standard benefits like the $0 fraud liability safeguard. One really great benefit is the credit report and free monthly credit score that you will obtain via Experian. This will allow you to follow your progress and serve as a great resource for improving your creditworthiness.

Other benefits include an optional protection scheme that protects against events like disability or involuntary employment. You will have to pay 96 cents for every $100 increase in your balance. Use it if you feel you are vulnerable to any such event.

Other Charges and Penalties

There are also other charges in addition to the annual fees. In case of cash advances, you will have to pay an 8% fee and an APR of nearly 26%.

For foreign transactions, you will also be charged a fee that is 3% of the transaction value. This is obviously not the best travel card.

$19 is also charged annually if you wish to include another authorized user. There is a minimum of $1 by way of interest charges. There is a $38 penalty for returned or late payments.

High Chances of Approval

If you have a credit rating from 300 to 670, there is a good chance that you will get approved. Even if you are unsure whether or not you will get approved, there is no harm in applying because it won’t hurt your credit score.

They have not defined any minimum credit score so you should feel free to try. The only requirement is for a verifiable income. Different income sources can qualify for this category such as self-employment income, regular employment, part-time earning or even public assistance.

By filling out the pre-qualification form, you will know your chances of approval. It is not perfectly reliable but it can nevertheless give you a good idea.

You should visit this link to see if you prequalify.

Online and Mobile App

The online and mobile websites are fairly intuitive and easy to use. You should have no problems finding your way around. Whether it’s checking your balance, your online credit score or making payments, it can all be easily done with the help of the mobile app. For added safety, you can also opt for alerts and SMS messages for any account activity.

BP Credit Card Review: Find Out Which Gas Credit Card is Best

bp credit card review

The BP Visa Credit Card offers plenty of rewards for everyday purchases. Therefore, it is worth considering this card for covering your daily expenses. This card offers a return ranging from 2.25% to 3% on dining, travel, and groceries.

If you use the card to make purchases at BP stations, you will enjoy a very decent cash-back reward that ranges from 3.75% to 5%. It is important to note that you won’t receive any cash back from using this card at other stations besides BP.

The rewards offered by this card are quite good. The rewards will, of course, vary according to your individual spending habits.

Cardholders can enjoy fairly decent rewards on dining out, travel, groceries and purchasing gasoline at BP stations. For purchasing gas at a BP station (up to 20 gallons), you can enjoy reward rates that range between 3% and 5%.

Statement Credit

You may also make use of your points for statement credit. This approach, however, will produce a slight drop in your returns. The rate for groceries, dining, and traveling will go down to 2.25 percent and the rate for purchasing gas at BP stations will also drop to 3.75 percent. If you spend wisely, you can make good use of your rewards. The BP Visa Credit Card will offer good rewards that are very much comparable to other leading credit cards.

You can make good savings with the BP Visa Credit Card regardless of the forms of credit that you prefer – statement credit or discounts on gas at BP stations.

Benefits of the BP Visa Credit Card

Here are the details on the benefits that you can enjoy with the BP Visa Credit Card:

  • In the introductory offer, you can get 25 cents off on every gallon for every $100 spent via your BP Visa Credit Card within the initial 90 days of your account opening. This reward does not apply to non-BP gas stations.
  • 25 cents off on every gallon on each $100 spent at BP.
  • 15 cents off per gallon on every $100 spent on eligible travel, groceries, and dining.
  • 5 cents off per gallon on each $100 spent wherever Visa credit cards are accepted. This does not apply to non-BP gas stations.
  • There is no annual fee.

Also, you may earn rewards on the BP Visa Credit Card in two bonus ways. In the initial 90 days following the opening of your account, you can earn 25 cents on each $100 spent. In effect, this is a 5% reward rate for all purchases.

Understanding How the Rewards System Works with the BP Visa Credit Card

Let’s take a simple example to find out rewards on typical purchases. The basic idea that you must keep in mind is that you will get a certain amount of money off on every gallon of gasoline for each $100 spent. You will receive 15 cents off on every gallon of gas for each $100 spent on eligible dining, groceries, and travel. This discount is applicable only up to 20 gallons. So, if you spend $100 on eligible travel, the maximum amount of reward that you are entitled to will be $0.15 x 20 = $3.

You can redeem your rewards in two basic forms: you can use them as a statement of credit or redeem them at the BP gas station. Keep in mind that using the rewards to get statement credit will reduce your benefits. Instead of a maximum 20 factor, your accumulated rewards will be multiplied with 15. So depending on where you choose to spend, your reward rates will turn out to be 3.75%, 2.25% or 0.75% when rewards are applied towards statement credit.

Is the BP Visa Credit Card Better Than Other Credit Cards?

Here, the BP Visa Credit Card will be compared with some of the other leading cards that also offer benefits and rewards for purchases on gas, dining, and groceries.

Chase Freedom

This is a leading credit card that offers plenty of rewards on a number of different categories including online shopping on Amazon.com, gas, and dining out. The Chase Freedom Credit Card will yield a cash-back reward of 5% on purchases in eligible bonus categories every quarter. The downside is that the reward rate will drop to just 1 percent once your purchases cross a limit of $1,500. There are also pros and cons to varying categories. The advantage is that such an approach can be helpful if you like to shop around at several different places. Not being bound with a fixed rewards system will offer more opportunities for earning cash back. But you will also have to look out for the categories to maximize your rewards.

Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express

This card offers big cash back at a rate of 6% on purchases from US supermarkets (up to $6,000 annual limit on purchases) and 3% cash back on eligible department stores and gas stations. The flipside to this card is the annual fee of $95. You do not have to pay any annual fees with the BP Visa Credit Card.

Further Benefits on the BP Visa Credit Card

You can expect the following benefits from the BP Visa Credit Card:

Redeeming Rewards

You can redeem your reward in two ways as described above. This added versatility will provide great convenience depending on your preferences.

No Liability for Fraud

The BP credit card will offer a number of safeguards that provide greater protection compared to cash transactions. There is always the risk of getting cheated by malicious people so you need some kind of protection. This comes in the form of the $0 fraud liability. So the cardholder is not liable for fraudulent charges made through their credit cards.

Introductory Offer and No Annual Fees

The introductory offer on the initial 90 days has been discussed above. No annual fee means that your precious rewards are not consumed by the often high annual fees that come with other cards. Cardholders will not have to worry about spending more with their BP Visa Credit Card in order to minimize the effect of the annual fee.

Credit building

By using credit cards in a responsible manner you can build up a good credit score. With this, you become eligible for a wide range of financial services that are necessary at some point in your life. Individuals who have poor credit score can also make improvements by making responsible use of credit cards.

Applying for a BP Visa Credit Card

You can apply for the BP Visa Credit Card by picking up an application form at the local BP gas station. If you want to apply online, then go to www.mybpstation.com/cards.

The good part about the online application process is that you can expect to get a quick response. Applying through the mail will obviously take a little extra time for processing your form. Once you have been approved, you will get your BP credit within 7-10 business days.

Union Plus Credit Card Review (BONUS: 3 Better Alternative Credit Cards)

Union plus credit card

The non-profit organization Union Privilege was founded in 1986. Its mission, according to the organization, was to help improve the standard of living for working families by finding and offering them unique products and services. The organization has grown since its inception and currently has over 500 hundred thousand registered members. The board of directors is made up of top union leaders from more than 60 international unions.

The organization mainly offers members and consumers support, benefits, and rewards through various promotional offers. Union members are eligible for the Union Plus Credit Card which allows them to get discounts, cash back, and easy financing options.

Thirteen Major Benefits of the Union Plus Credit Card

One of the benefits offered by Union Privilege is their Union Plus Credit Card. The card has been used by millions of working-class families to get out of a bad financial situation and even reap the benefits of discounted offers on the market.

Labor Union members in the U.S. are eligible for the following benefits.

Get Cash Back on Purchases

Most credit cards give cash back to the users on making purchases and this is what makes them popular. The Union has negotiated flat 1.5% cash back for all purchases made through their Union Plus card.

There is no limit on the value of cash back that users can get. The more you swipe, the more discount you get.

Introductory Period of APR

Intro APR is a period of time where the credit card issuer charges 0% interest rate on purchases for a period of time. Many card-issuing bodies offer this benefit to attract new users. However, this benefit is not offered by all credit card providers.

The Union Plus card has an Intro offer period of 12 months where you do not have to worry about any interest fee payments.

Transfer Your Balance from Other Cards

The credit card is meant to relieve pressure from users struggling with financial difficulties. It allows you to transfer the balance from your other credit cards where you might be paying a higher APR to this card as it offers a lower interest rate. This can help you consolidate some of your debt into a single place. The card charges a one-time balance transfer fee of 3%. This is one of the lowest interest rates compared to other banks.

No Fee for Over Limit Usage

The best thing about the Union Plus Card is that there is no additional fee for going over the card limit. There is a credit limit on the card that is based on your credit score and income. However, if you go over the limit with this card, you will not get charged an additional fee. You would still need to clear the amount before your next due date to avoid penalty.

Zero Annual Fee

Most credit card companies charge an additional annual fee that can be somewhere between $20 and $100 based on the bank that you are using. This annual fee can put a burden on your finances, especially if you are struggling to meet payments.

The Union Plus Credit Card does not charge an annual fee. As long as you clear your card payments on time, you do not have to worry about any additional charges.

Take Cash Out Through An ATM

Most credit cards out there do not offer the function to take cash out on credit. This can significantly limit your options and make the card useless in situations where you need to make cash payments.

The Union Plus card allows you to take cash out when you need it. The card charges a fee of 4% or $10, whichever is higher, for the transaction.

No Additional Fee Abroad

Foreign transaction fee can cost a lot if you are traveling abroad. Most credit cards (and even debit cards) charge an additional fee when you use them outside the country.

The Union Plus credit card does not charge you an additional fee if you use it outside the country. You can take the Union Plus Credit Card abroad and use it to make payments without worrying about the transaction fee. There are no hidden or extra fees on the card.

Union Plus Rebates and Discounts

The Union Plus card gives special offers and discounts from time to time that can be used to purchase everything; from groceries, clothing, and electronics to paying restaurant bills and insurance. The Union Plus Credit Card offers some amazing discounts up to 40% from time to time. You can count on the service to get amazing seasonal discounts for you.

Skip Payment Protections

The Union Plus Credit Card offers the most benefits to labor union members. For instance, the card allows you to skip two payments on the card during a 12 month period if you face some kind of financial difficulty.

Moreover, the card allows you to skip up to four payments during a 12-month period if there is a union-sanctioned strike going on at your employer due to a lock out for 30 days or more.

Access to CreditKeeper

The Union Plus Cardholders are allowed to enroll in CreditKeeper. This service allows you to access your credit reports and scores from the three credit rating agencies. You can also access your driver’s records, medical records, and social security information.

Grants and Debt Relief

Very few credit cards are run by non-profit organizations. The Union Plus Credit Card is operated to make the members’ lives easier rather than profiting off of them. The credit card offers occasional hardship relief and assistance for members through grants and debt relief programs. In order to qualify, you must have been a member of the organization for at least 3 months.

Some of the financial relief grants that you can get include Job Loss Grants, Strike Grants, Disability Grants, and Hospitalization Grants.

Insurance and Other Coverage

The Union Plus Card also offers special protections and coverage for members. Some of these are mandatory while other offers allow members the choice of opting out.

One of the protections is a collision damage waiver. This helps members who rent a car using this card and end up in an accident. The card also offers identity theft protection coverage as well as price protection.

Scholarship Programs

The Union cardholders from the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees are eligible for scholarship programs for themselves, their spouses and dependent children. They can get a one-time scholarship from $500 to $4,000. Eligibility criteria apply.

Applying for the Union Plus Credit Card

The Union Plus Credit Card can only be acquired by current union members who are in good standing with a particular union. The card is also valid for family members of a current union member such as spouse and children and members of Working America organization. The card can also be acquired by retired union members.

Online applications for the card can be submitted via Union Plus – Capital One website or a partner site. You will need to fill out their application form and provide basic information including union local number, home address, birth date, and SSN.

Our Last Thoughts on the Union Plus Credit Card

The Union Plus credit card is a good option if you want a no-fee card that earns 1.5% back. Unfortunately, there are no options for redeeming your rewards for anything but cash back. There are better options available that earn 1.5% back or more and have options for redemption.

Chevron Credit Card Review: Does It Compare to Other Rewards Cards?

chevron credit card review

Two of the major players in the fuel game – Chevron and Texaco – like many other gas stations offer their own credit cards. The two credit cards offered by these companies include the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card and Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card.

If you frequently purchase gas at Chevron and Texaco, you may be interested in getting a Chevron-Texaco credit card. In this review, we’ll help you decide whether a Chevron-Texaco credit card is right for you or not.

Chevron Techron Advantage Credit Card

The highlights of Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card:

  • No annual fee
  • 3¢/gal in fuel credits for fuel purchases at Chevron and Texaco stations
  • Online account management
  • $0 fraud liability
  • 24/7 access to cash
  • Exclusive offers

This a branded-credit card offered by Chevron and Texaco. The rewards aren’t as great as those offered by some of the other gas credit cards, so we don’t recommend you to get this credit card. The Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card doesn’t charge an annual fee. Therefore, it could be an option for consumers who want to rebuild their credit score. The APR of this credit card reaches close to 29% which is why it’s important to use this card responsibly.

There aren’t any strict requirements you need to match for applying for this credit card. When it comes to rewards, the only thing you get is a 3¢ for every single gallon fuel purchased at Chevron and Texaco stations.

This credit card doesn’t offer anything extraordinary. It gives zero fraud liability meaning that you can’t be held accountable in case of unauthorized transactions. Another feature is that you’ll get exclusive savings offers at different times during the year. However, there isn’t any information disclosed by Chevron and Texaco about these deals.  The card offers various online management features for the ease of cardholders. You can check the balance on your card and make payments online.

It’s clear that the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card doesn’t offer enough rewards to the cardholders. It might only be a good option for rebuilding credit as it doesn’t come with an annual fee. Other than that, there isn’t much value you can get from this credit card.

Chevron Techron Advantage Visa Card

The highlights of Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card:

  • No annual fee
  • 3¢/gal in fuel credits for fuel purchases at Chevron and Texaco stations
  • 20¢ per gallon in fuel credit if you buy fuel at Chevron or Texaco station during the first 90 days after opening your credit card account
  • For spending $300 per month outside of fuel merchants, you’ll receive 10¢/gal in fuel credit (OR)
  • For spending $1,000 per month outside of fuel merchants, you’ll receive 20¢/gal in fuel credit

There is a major difference between the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card and the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card in terms of rewards. This card gives a 3¢ per every gallon in fuel credits for gas purchased at the Chevron and Texaco. In addition, it also offers a 20¢ per gallon in fuel credit if you buy fuel at Chevron or Texaco station during the first 90 days after opening your credit card account.

Another advantage is that this card can be used outside of Chevron and Texaco stations. There are even rewards for purchases made elsewhere. For instance, on spending $300 per month outside of fuel merchants, you’ll receive 10¢/gal in fuel credit. If you spend $1,000 per month outside of fuel merchants, you’ll get 20¢/gal in fuel credit.

The Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card offers a good deal and is a lot better than the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card. If you spend $1,000 or more in purchases other than fuel, you could save a few bucks from 20¢/gal in fuel credit reward.

The other features on this credit card as the same as those of the branded version including no annual fee, online account management, 24/7 cash access and $0 fraud liability.

Applying for a Chevron Credit Card

You can apply for a Chevron-Texaco credit card from this page. Click the ‘Apply Now’ and you’ll be directed to a new secure page where you can enter the information required for the application. You will need to provide your physical address, email address, phone number, and other details to complete the application. Once you’ve completed the application, you can proceed by clicking the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Chevron Credit Card Login Information

Before you can log in into your Chevron-Texaco credit card, you will have to register your card. Visit this page and click the “Register” button to complete the registration process after you’ve received your Chevron-Texaco credit card. Once you’ve registered your card, you can log into your account by entering your User ID and Password. From the online account, you can check your balance and make payments. You can access your account 24/7 online. There is also a mobile app that you can use for making payments and checking the status of your Chevron-Texaco credit card.

Should You Get a Chevron Credit Card?

The Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card doesn’t offer any special rewards except for the 3¢/gal in fuel credits. It is only good for rebuilding credit, so we wouldn’t recommend this credit card if you plan on saving money on fuel. However, the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card offers good rewards and may allow you to save a few bucks on fuel purchases at Chevron and Texaco stations.

If you spend $300 or $1000 a month in non-fuel related purchases, you could save money from the 10¢/gal or 20¢/gal in fuel credits reward. Not only that, but you can enjoy 20¢/gal in fuel credit reward for fuel purchases within the first 90 days. It would make sense for you to get the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card if you frequently purchase fuel at Chevron and Texaco stations. Otherwise, we wouldn’t recommend this card to you as there are plenty of better alternatives out there.

An Alternative Card to Consider

If you’re looking for a fuel credit card that’ll give you plenty of rewards, we suggest the Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express. There’s no annual fee on this card and it offers 3% cash back for fuel purchased from U.S. gas stations. In addition, there is 6% cash back on the card on the first $6,000 spent in a year at the supermarkets in the country.

Our Lasts Thoughts on the Chevron Credit Credit Card

In a nutshell, the Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Credit Card doesn’t offer compelling rewards, but the rewards Chevron-Texaco Techron Advantage Visa Card offers are good. You may be able to save a few bucks from the rewards on the Visa Card if you frequently purchase gas at Chevron and Texaco stations. So, only get this card if you’re an avid Chevron and Texaco customer; otherwise, look for better alternatives.

Reward Zone Credit Card Review: Earn Points at Best Buy

reward zone credit card review

Most Credit Cards usually come with benefits and rewards that can be availed by the user on purchases. The Reward Zone Credit card is designed to improve user experience by giving customers plenty of benefits and rewards at Best Buy stores as well as other retailers and service providers.

Understanding the Difference between Benefits and Rewards

There is a distinction that must be made between rewards and benefits. Benefits are extra features that are offered on the card and include the following:

  • Extra protection on purchases to reduce the risk of fraud and misuse
  • Extended warranties on purchased electronics
  • Insurance offers on rental automobiles, air travel, and tourism
  • Additional concierge services to make the cardholder’s life easier

Rewards on a credit card are direct monetary payments that help reduce the card user’s bill. These include cash back rewards, purchase discounts, interest-free finance, reward points and a host of other rewards.

The Reward Zone Credit Card Benefits and Rewards

You can usually get excellent benefits and rewards on the Rewards Zone MasterCard if your credit score is high and you don’t have a lot of consumer debt. It is one of the higher rewards cards from the network operator. The perks offered by the card do not rely on the amount of money you spend each year.

Eleven Reasons to Get the Reward Zone MasterCard

In order to facilitate and improve your online shopping experience, you need to get a card that is accepted by most vendors and doesn’t charge you excessive fees for online shopping.

2. Very Easy to Use

The card is compatible for use at a variety of vendors. You can have is scanned, use the contactless feature or let vendors use it on a chip-reader. You can make payment via the internet or over the phone. With so many options for clearing bills and invoices, missing your payments is almost impossible unless you skip a payment on purpose.

The offers and rewards on the Reward Zone card are what put it one step ahead of the competition. There are basically two different types of offers and you can choose the one you prefer.

The first offer is that you can get cash back of 5% (6% for Elite Plus) on all your purchases at specified stores. You can also get cash back of 2% when you use the card on dining and grocery purchases. You get 3% cash back on gas and fitness equipment purchases. Also, you’ll get periodic discounts on the card of up to 15% on special promotions throughout the year.

The second option is that you can finance a purchase of $599 on the card for a maximum of 18 months at 0% APR or 24-month financing for $799 at 0% for specific products.

4. Reward Points

Apart from the immediate cash back and easy financing, the Reward Zone MasterCard also adds 2.5 points on every dollar you spend. When you reach 250 points on the card, you receive a $5 reward card certificate.

These reward certificates can be used to make purchases at the store like regular money.

5. Free Delivery

A number of online vendors ask for delivery charges when you make a purchase through a cash-on-delivery method. However, e-stores tend to waive the delivery charges when you make your payment through the Reward Zone Credit Card and the value of shopping is more than $35.

6. Purchase Protection

The Reward Zone MasterCard also gives customers purchase protection through the service provider’s insurance. This comes into effect if the customer receives products that are damaged or stolen. Items are generally covered for around 90 days. The service has a limit to the maximum value of dollar amount protected for in-transit damage.

The Rewards Zone MasterCard cards also carry travel benefits depending on the card issuer’s policy. These benefits include;

  • Flight upgrades and discounts
  • Cruise benefits and savings

10. Customer Loyalty Rewards

You can clear the outstanding balance on the card through cash or debit card payments at the store. You can also clear the balance via ATMs that accept Best Buy payments or order a direct debit from your bank.

Credit Card Charges

There is no registration fee for Best Buy credit cards. The Best Buy Visa gold has an annual subscription fee of $59 but the fee on MasterCard is $0.

The APR on Reward Zone MasterCard is 26.99% and late fee can be up to $38

Our Last Thoughts on the Reward Zone Credit Cards

Like most store cards, if you shop often at Best Buy you’ll find value in the Reward Zone credit card. If you don’t shop alot at Best Buy you’re going to be better off with another card that gives better rewards elsewhere. The fact that you earn Best Buy credit as a reward is not special. Almost every rewards credit card on the market allows you to use your points for gift cards if you want. We don’t recommend this as it’s one of the least valuable ways to redeem points.
